Alcohol Rehabilitation & Chemical Dependency Programs and Services for Teens and Parents

DAAC offers outpatient programs and services, described below, for adolescents with alcohol and other drug or chemical dependency problems and their parents. Health services, including HIV and Hepatitis C education and testing, are available to all clients. Additionally, our staff can guide family and friends of an individual with alcohol and/or other drug or chemical dependency problems through a structured and facilitated intervention process. For information on interventions, please contact Monica Haimowitz, Youth and Family Services Director, at (707) 544-3295.

Adolescent Alcohol Rehabilitation & Chemical Dependency Treatment Program (707) 544-3295
The Adolescent Treatment Program provides assessment, treatment and referrals for teens with alcohol and other drug or chemical dependency problems and their families. Treatment includes individual, family and group counseling. Services are provided in Windsor, Santa Rosa, Petaluma and Sonoma.

Juvenile Probation Program (707) 544-3295
The Juvenile Probation Program is a collaborative effort of the Sonoma County Health Department, the Sonoma County Probation Department, Sonoma County Courts and DAAC. The program serves juveniles charged with non-violent misdemeanors or felonies related to drug abuse and includes intensive counseling, drug testing, participation in self-help programs and regular case coordination with the referring probation officer.

Parents Supporting Parents (707) 544-3295   ext. 366
Parents Supporting Parents is an action-oriented support group for parents dealing with unacceptable adolescent behaviors. The goal is to help parents make changes and get control of the "out of control" behaviors of their teenage sons and daughters. There are free weekly meetings in Santa Rosa.

School-Based Services
In conjunction with the Sonoma County Office of Education, the Santa Rosa City Schools and the Konocti Unified School District, DAAC offers community school programs for adolescents.

Awareness & Choices Training (ACT) provides early intervention and prevention counseling to students at secondary schools in Santa Rosa to reduce alcohol, tobacco and other chemical dependency and drug use among teens. ACT also provides a weekly, drop-in education and support group for parents of teens.

The Community Schools Program provides alcohol rehabilitation and chemical dependency treatment services to community school students. Group and individual counseling is provided to teens 1-2 times per week as scheduled by school teachers and counselors.

The Clean & Sober Schools are a merging of therapeutic and academic efforts for the adolescent who has abused or been dependent on alcohol and/or other drugs and has chosen to make a commitment to sobriety. Education and process groups are provided daily. DAAC operates two schools in Sonoma County, (707) 527-8338, and one in Lake County, (707) 995-1232.

If you or someone you love has an alcohol, drug or other chemical dependency problem, the Drug Abuse Alternatives Center (DAAC) can help.
